What I Learned When I Almost Died How a Maniac TV Producer Put Down His BlackBerry and Started to Live His Life Books
I found the book to be a bit boring. I kept waiting to something exciting to happen. I could have written a book myselfabout my severe pain radiating across my left side and waist when a kidney stone was working it's way down from my kidney getting stuck halfway causing kidney sepsis which almost killed me on the operating table. I spent time in intensive care and went through months of pain and three surgeries before they were able to get the darn stone out.

What I Learned When I Almost Died How a Maniac TV Producer Put Down His BlackBerry and Started to Live His Life Books Reviews
I actually shed a few tears reading this.
So many parallels - with life lessons.
Thank you for writing this.
Interesting true life experience.
but at least a short read. I was looking forward to at least some sort of interesting or provoking insight in this book but found nothing other than a consistent air of arrogance with attempts to be transparently masked by one line gestures of humbleness. I kept on waiting for the part that he would make fun of his early character ego after some sort of revelation...but it never happened. The author does not have a problem with esteem and, more importantly, did not seem to walk away with much enlightenment. This guy unfortunately supports a NY stereotype of shallowness and career defining character. My feel after reading was that this guy saw a way to make a couple extra undeserved bucks by finding a publisher that gambled that a good title would catch some interest - unfortunately it worked on me.
This book was a huge disappointment. The author appeared to be pushed into writing the book, shared the experience in a way that felt distanced from the event. The lessons he shared were few and far between. The focus seemed to be on the importance of his career over everything else. It did not feel like an authentic sharing of his personal journey, and at times felt as though he had told his story to someone else and they had filled the pages at an arms distance from the events.
I completely enjoyed reading this book. Chris gives such great insights on how to handle life after something unexpected hits you. You'll realize what's important to you , and what isn't. I recommend this book ( it's a quick read) to everyone, because you'll never know when life will throw you a curve ball.
ok
An amazing story about walking to the edge of death and coming back with a new perspective on life. Licht shows how his brush with mortality lead him to a fresh understanding of what really matters most. Among the story's many emotional high points are the ways in which the writer's family and friends (some famous and powerful, some VERY famous and powerful) roll up their sleeves to help out... showing Chris what he means to them -- and how he has changed their lives. A beautiful read.
